Alhambra Tickets for Your Granada vacation

Once the hilltop-fortress of the Muslim kings of Spain, the fairy-tale Alhambra Palace, south-east of Granada, is Spain’s most visited monument. Visitors come droveseach day to admire the ornately carved cedar-wood, light-reflecting pools, frothy stucco, gorgeous mosaics and lush gardens.

However the appeal of the Palace, especially weekends is so strong that Alhambra tickets sell out extremely rapidly and many people lose the opportunity to enjoy this superb legacy of the Moorish Kings.

To make sure of your visit, it is essential to book your Alhambra tickets before you go, especially during the high season.

There are three parts to the site: the ornate Nazrid Palace, the battlements and the gardens. Different sorts of Alhambra tickets are on offer. You can buy: a general ticket for all parts of the site.

Otherwise, obtain a ticket to the Royal Apartments only, or a ticket that entitles you entry to the battlements and the Generalife, but not the Royal apartments. If you select the general ticket, your Alhambra tickets are valid for half a day.

The splendid Royal Apartments are the glory of the Alhambra complex. Only 300 people per half hour are allowed to enter. There is a half-hour period in which tourists are able to visit the Palaces. Do not be late, or you will miss your slot.

It is advised that you arrive at the Alhambra Palace approximately an hour before your Royal Apartments admission time because the ticket line may mean as much as a 20-minute wait, and getting from the ticket office to the Nazrid Palace can take 15 minutes. Try to arrive at the Nazrid complex before your 30-minute admission time slot ends, as the ticket-checkers are very strict about applying the rules.
